Law Office of douglas boxer

Doug Boxer, a California-licensed lawyer since 1991, has represented thousands of victims and survivors impacted by some of the largest wildfires in US history. Over the past decade, Doug has helped over 20,000 clients on their mission to get justice after their lives were devastated by utility-sparked wildfires.
He is part of the legal team that represents over 16,000 Camp Fire victims and survivors, as well as clients in multiple other California fires including the Bobcat Fire (Los Angeles County), the Kincade Fire (Sonoma County), the Zogg Fire (Tehema County), and Dixie Fire (multiple Northern California Counties). Doug also serves on the Committee providing oversight to the $13.5 billion Trust responsible for compensating 70,000 fire victims and survivors from the PG&E-started wildfires in 2017 and 2018. Doug’s commitment to fairness and justice was instilled in him at an early age by his parents.
His father Stewart founded what would later become the largest Workers’ Compensation law firm in the Bay Area, helping workers get the justice they deserved after being injured on the job.
Likewise, his mother, US Senator Barbara Boxer, taught Doug that you should always stand up for people who don’t have a voice and that government can be a force of good for people and communities. These are the values that drive Doug to work hard every day for people who are harmed by the bad acts of others and no fault of their own.
While Doug lives in Oakland in the Bay Area, he has deep ties and familial connections to the Southland and the devastating 2025 Los Angeles wildfires. Unfortunately, along with countless close friends, his sister and family lost their Malibu home in the Palisades fire.
Doug also lived in Los Angeles for most of the 1990s, while he served in the Los Angeles Mayor’s office and ran his own consulting business. He has traveled to Los Angeles regularly since his move back to Northern California both to assist in his mother’s various re-election campaigns and also to maintain his California-based consulting firm where his clients had business in Southern California.
Doug’s work in law, politics, and government spans over four decades. He began his legal career with the San Francisco law firm of Hanson, Bridgett, Marcus, Vlahos, and Rudy.
He left the law firm to work in government, serving in Washington, DC at two cabinet-level departments and later served in the Los Angeles Mayor’s office and later started his own consulting firm helping clients form smart and effective public and government affairs and communications strategies.
He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley and his law degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where he graduated cum laude. He is married with two teenage children.
